This small A-type Shay locomotive was built for the Palmwoods - Buderim Tramway. It was withdrawn by 1932 and stored at Palmwoods. It seems the loco was partially scrapped – presumably at least the non-ferrous fittings were stripped – while the remains were abandoned at Palmwoods.

Light Railways magazine of August 2002 reported that significant remnants of this locomotive - including the boiler - were discovered on 25 November 2000, buried in the Queensland Railways embankment at Palmwoods. Perhaps one day an excavation can be arranged to investigate and salvage these remains; presumably Queensland Rail would be a key stakeholder and need to provide the necessary approvals!

For further information about the Palmwoods – Buderim Tramway, refer to the line’s other loco ‘Krauss’ and the excellent Buderim-Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Incorporated website.
