Victorias Mill No.14P Porter b/n 6465 of 1920 |
This view is kindly provided by Peter Newett and shows 14P stored dismantled at the private location in the Melbourne suburbs; October 2009. (The locomotives on the right are the former Mount Morgan Co. Ltd Nos. 4 & 5) |
This locomotive was No.14P at the Victorias Mill on the island of Negros, Philippines. It was purchased for private preservation and imported to Australia in 1984 and initially located at Spotswood Workshops. In 1989 it moved suburban Bayswater, Melbourne, where it kept company with Krebet Baru Mill No.3 and two 0-4-0ST locos ex- Mt Morgan Mines. a
Photos show that the locomotive had been largely dismantled at some stage, presumably for assessment for restoration. c
In October 2009 this locomotive was sold to another private owner, and has now been exported. b
Rob Dickinson's excellent International Steam site also lists this loco as 0-6-0T 14P from Victorias Mill, Negros, Philippines which was imported to Melbourne in 1986. c
