No. 6 John Fowler & Co. Ltd. b/n 13325 of 1912 |
This view is kindly provided by Dave Jones and shows No. 6 plinthed under a weather roof at the Childers town museum on 9 March 2009. Behind is John Fowler B/N 7607 of 1896, bearing the number "4". |
This locomotive was built by John Fowler & Co. Ltd. of Leeds as their Builder's No. 13325 of 1912, and became No. 6 on the roster of the Isis Mill, Cordalba.(a)
No.6 is now plinthed in the Childers town museum and displayed under a weather roof. It retains its brass steam dome and features a bogie tender that bears a home-made builders plate which reads 'No. 6, Made by Isis Central Mill, 27-7-52'.
In 2007 or 2008 No.6 was joined at Childers town museum by another former Isis Central Mill loco, John Fowler & Co. Ltd. Builder's No. 7607 of 1896.
Here is an earlier view taken by the webmaster which shows No.6 at Childers on 29 January 2004, prior to the arrival of No. 4. |
